so the season of renewed hopes has arrived! the breeze smells fresh, the multifarious chirps loud and clear
to the ears all day long, and the surroundings eager to turn into lush green, again. farmers among us have
‘new year’ resolutions to make and plan for what lies ahead!

nature plans for itself no matter what we do with it. and what a great planner- gentle, giving, wholesome,
persistent and conquering in the end. there is so much to learn about the process from it. all we need to
do is to keep our senses at it!

the question one may ask, is there a need to plan what we do and what we have to do? with all the room
for spontaneity and need of the hour, wise ones have always vouched for a road map. it brings clarity and
helps us accomplish our goals, effectively. now that the school year has started, planning for it and
otherwise may fit right in!

so what makes us a better planner? many things. one strategy would mean combining our activities, such
as home work and play. this will help avoid stress too! here a familiar structure known as the time-table
will come in handy. setting time slots for the work and activities can be fun. all we need is a piece of
paper and a pen. and we can decorate it however we want and with whatever we have!

a golden rule, as they say, is to set aside substantial time for what is urgent and important, such as
learning a new skill or finishing a school project prior to the deadline. yes, prioritize!
here, wisdom from human psychology says that if we visualize a step-by-step process of completion for a
task, we are half way there. yes, just imagine! it speeds up the process and helps us put together all the
necessary materials to complete the task.

who are the best friends of planning? yes, you got it. checklists and calendars. if we are or can become
fond of these, these definitely aid in making important things as part of our routine.

planning is important to accomplish our goals. it is a wonderful skill that we can always improvise and
master.

sometimes though we will fall out of the routine, which is okay. the beauty is in the cycle of fall-and-
rise-again, right?
